Status in “mtdev” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Please upload mtdev 1.1.0 to Ubuntu. The changes are binary compatible
  with 1.0.11 and includes an optional stable API. Old programs will run
  and compile fine against this new package, and new programs will run
  fine against the old package.

  https://code.launchpad.net/~mtdev-team/mtdev/trunk.
