Binary package hint: irda-utils
Hp dv6000 (dv6131od)
Ubuntu 9.04 jaunty added myth+studio packages
ProblemType: Package
Architecture: i386
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
ErrorMessage: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 127
Package: irda-utils 0.9.18-8.1ubuntu1
SourcePackage: irda-utils
Title: package irda-utils 0.9.18-8.1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 127
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-8-generic i686
SRU justification: package is completely uninstallable in jaunty,
because it calls a non-existing utility in the postinst.
Addressed in karmic, as indicated in the bug log below.
TEST CASE: try to install the irda-utils package in jaunty. It will
fail. Then enable jaunty-proposed and try again.
REGRESSION POTENTIAL: because the package is uninstallable in jaunty,
and was so for much of the release cycle, it is possible that successful
installation of the package will introduce other regressions in untested
code paths. However, the theoretical possibility of such a regression
does not outweigh the need for an installable package.
