The problem is that the library generates different symbols on 32- and 64-bit architectures (e.g. by using size_t as a prameter).
You could use the c++/regex pattern to cover both cases. See dpkg-gensymbols(1)

  The new upstream version 2.7.6 of rsplib has been released. I have
  created an up to date Ubuntu package in my PPA:
  https://launchpad.net/~dreibh/+archive/ppa . Version 2.7.6 is a bugfix
  release. The .diff.gz file is attached.
