As far as I understand from http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/LuaTeX, LuaTeX is not an everyday feature.
We should decide, can we stay with rc1 just because of it. Note that rc1 still has lots of serious bugs (e.g. bug 736094).

  In bug 731978 it was decided that we should ship final LyX in Natty
  (or at least the latest RC).

  lyx (2.0.0~rc2-1) unstable; urgency=low

    * New upstream release
    * Add ttf-lyx.post(inst|rm) and use dpkg-maint-script-helper rm_conffile
      as designed.

  This should at least fix bug 736094.
