You have been subscribed to a public bug by Matthias Klose (doko):
Since version 1.0.1-1ubuntu1, CXXFLAGS is set, in order to add a define
(__STDC_CONSTANT_MACROS) to fix a FTBFS caused by ffmpeg-related
libraries c++ compilation. This broke the expected behavior of
AC_PROG_CXX macro, which sets CXXFLAGS to "-g -O2" when CXXFLAGS is
unset [1].
In this way, libavg binaries are compiled with no optimizations, which
may lead to unexpected behavior (under linux, libavg is extensively
tested with -O2).

** Affects: libavg (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Assignee: OXullo Intersecans (oxullo)
