Bug description:
Binary package hint: tvtime

Adding support for alsamixer becomes increasingly important as Maverick has turned off kernel-space OSS emulation, causing a regression from Lucid -> Maverick for users wanting to control sound card input volume from the tvtime application.

Once we'll get this into Natty, we can consider these patches as SRU for Maverick as well.
