Everything is now working great!

One last (I believe) thing is when Liferea starts and its window has
focus, it shouldn't set "attention" status when it discovers unread
items.

Binary package hint: liferea

Just as gwibber, pidgin, empathy and evolution, liferea should be held available in the indicator applet because it clearly belongs to the communication/news department as well. It would be nice to see the count of unread messages, to be able to activate the window or to start the application.
