Status in “mpd” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed
Status in “mpd” package in Debian: Unknown

Bug description:
Binary package hint: mpd

when playing m4a files with mpd, it segfaults due to memory alignment issues between mpd and ffmpeg.

this bug, originally reported as bug in debian #556198 [1], also affects the current lucid version mpd_0.15.4-1ubuntu3. it can be fixed by applying the patch mentioned in the debian bug report at [2] to the current package (applies cleanly except for NEWS file) or by upgrading to 0.15.6, which incorporates the change.
