Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
Ubuntu delta was for a transitional package since it entered Ubuntu as pidgin-mbpurple in Karmic.  Since only upgrades from Lucid are supported in Maverick, this can be dropped.
Changelog entries since current maverick version 0.2.4-1ubuntu1:

pidgin-microblog (0.3.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
  * Updated Standards-Version to 3.8.4.
  * Updated debian/watch.
