I've merged debian 4.44 and submitted
lp:~smoser/ubuntu/natty/netbase/lp-681012-sync .

Hopefully that makes things easier for a sponsor rather than harder.

So, sponsor, please merge from  lp:~smoser/ubuntu/natty/netbase/lp-681012-sync which includes changes from 
lp:~kay-roepke/ubuntu/lucid/netbase/mysql-proxy
