I'm not sure about existing delta is correct. It seems quite hardcore.
Let's try to build clean package from unstable:

# FIXME: Is there an easier way to exclude files which
# are installed to another binary package?
rm -rf debian/pymca/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/PyMca/attdata
rm debian/pymca/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/PyMca/*.dat
rm: cannot remove `debian/pymca/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/PyMca/*.dat': No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [override_dh_install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/buildd/pymca-4.4.1p1'
make: *** [install-stamp] Error 2
dpkg-buildpackage: error: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit status 2
E: Failed autobuilding of package

Adding -f to rm is rather workaround, instead fix FTBFS. I'd like to get
a feedback from expierenced developers with python. Please do not
sponsor this one.

Status in “pymca” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: pymca

Please merge new Debian version:

 pymca (4.4.1p1-1) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * New upstream version.
     - Fixes setting PYTHONPATH in scripts (closes: #605160).
     - Includes the specfile module locale fixes, so removing patch
       03_specfile-locale.
     - Does not include .pyc files in the orig.tar, so removing code
in 'debian/rules' for preserving them during the build.
   * Patch 03_postbatch: Remove starting blank line from pymcapostbatch
script to allow correct distutils #! replacement.

Thanks!
