This is fixed in lucid with the indicator patch. Would still be nice if
you can send it to an upstream bug. Thank you!

Bug description:
This is about the volume slider in the volume applet in Gnome 2.28.1 on Ubuntu 9.10.
If the volume slider is on anything else but the lowest position, when click-and-slide is performed the volume is update real-time. When the volume slider is on 0 though during click-and-slide nothing happens and the mouse button must be released in order to get the sound volume updated. This makes for an inconsistent and annoying behavior.
