It looks like gbrainy uses a patch system:

$ what-patch
cdbs

You should use this patch system to apply your changes instead of
directly modifying the upstream source code. As this is an upstream bug,
I would also strongly encourage you to forward the patch upstream to try
and get it fixed there. I am unsubscribing ~ubuntu-sponsors while you
make this change.

When gbrainy first starts, you will notice that it says "Memory trainers. To prove your short term memory." I believe it should be- "To IMPROVE your short term memory."
