Need information about gsoc

Hello devs,

I want to know one information about the GSOC. That I want to make one
downloading software for the Ubuntu OS. Does these types of projects are
accepted in the GSOC ? If not what is the scope of selecting GSOC ideas.
Because I want to propose my own project for GSOC.

Also I like the idea of coverting the community.Ubuntu.com to django. What
is the email of the mentor ? I want to take the more details about the idea
:)
