Want to contribute to Ubuntu

Hi,
   I am Akshay Ratan, a second year undergraduate Computer science student
at DA-IICT , India. I am a contributor in open-source world in organisation
of KDE. I did a Summer of KDE Project last year on a KDE Application of
KMousetool. Currently, I am working on a bug in digiKam.I am using Ubuntu
from past 3 years and currently I have Ubuntu 11.10. I was browsing through
some open-source projects where I came across Ubuntu projects and I was
fascinated by it ! I am experienced with C,C++,Java and Python languages
apart from having knowledge of Qt,Matlab,Android programming and GUI.
Please guide me so that I can begin contributing to Ubuntu community. I am
particularly interested in *Ubuntu Friendly and Speech Recognition *
projects.
