system restore/backup

Hello,

It is possibly worth pointing out that Simple Backup (sbackup,
https://launchpad.net/sbackup ) was a GSoC project in a previous year
that attempted to do almost exactly the same thing. The fact that this
same project is on the list again this year implies that there are
lessons that can be learnt from how sbackup was implemented previously.
The fact that I am using sbackup for doing my backups a the moment
implies that there might be some useful code in there ;-)
