GSoC '10 Idea : NotifyOSD improvements

Hey, all.

I'd like to share a GSoC 2010 idea and run it by all of you.
So it's about improving the new NotifyOSD system, inspiring features from
the MacOSX Growl <http://growl.info/> in accordance with the unresolved
specifications in the Wiki
<https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NotifyOSD/Comments> + fixing
bugs.
I have a few features/corrections and possible design implementations in
mind, but before discussing them, I'd like to know how valid this project
might be and share it among probable mentors.
