[Ubuntu-SG] Update on the ubuntu.sg website, and thoughts on TUSG

Hi,

I always thought that this mailing list is more of a user discussion group
:P In my opinion, the group here is a bit small to create significant
impact. There ain't a lot of Linux users in Singapore and Ubuntu-sg is a
even smaller subset. With this in mind, I suggest we focus on what small
groups can do with our limited manpower and resources.

In my opinion, the best thing we can do is to be an active part of the
overall Linux landscape in Singapore. The team has actively participated in
activities like SFD and such, which I think is a good idea to gain exposure.
The next thing we can focus on is Singapore-specific Ubuntu/Linux issues. A
year or two back, we did have people asking for help here on getting their
m1/singtel hwawei 3g dongles working with ubuntu. This is where we can be
useful, cause for anything more generic can probably be solved by
participating in the official ubuntu forums.

Regards,
XP
