[Ubuntu-SG] ubuntu on tablet

oh and btw. it's not that i do not want to post the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
i do not have the original installed file that caused my x not to be able to
start and not able to perform a graphical install.

so what i did was as follows to install the ati proprietary driver.

run livecd and when x cannot start, it will throw me into the command line.
i then did the following commands.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx
sudo depmod -a
sudo aticonfig --initial
sudo aticonfig --overlay-type=Xv

these steps will install the ati driver and the last 2 commands will modify
the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.

after all these. then i did a startx and managed to get into the x desktop
and perform a graphical install mod.

after installation and the livecd removed and i did a reboot, x could not
start up again as the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file was changed back to the
generic one. so i did the above steps again and everything was fine after
that.

i am using ati mobility radeon x1300 on a hp nc6400 laptop.

the curious thing is that the generic /etc/X11/xorg.conf file cannot work
and the error message was that there were no screens found.

as for my wireless problem, i am still stumped and confused why it suddenly
worked. i am going to figure this out and post it here once i find out.

as of now, everything is working fine. hopefully.
