I have heard of the similar thing. coreduo is a 32bit processor and core2duo is for 64bit but I don't own one so I can't prove the point. As said, I think a 64bit cd will not run on a 32bit system and it will prompt out the error. So it is rather save to download the 64bit and try. But I think as time goes, all the duo core quad core processors should be 64bit and can support higher memory capacity. I am more familar with the AMD processor which I use. in short, if your intel core2 supports EM64T, then it can run the amd64 version. On 5/12/07, Maung Myat Thu @ Billy Aung Myint <

Funny you asked this. In fact I am going to get a new Core2duo desktop soonand I can't figure out if it is 32 or 64. I asked in #ubuntu @ freenode and Igot reply from saying all the latest chips are 64-bits so I can install
64-bit ubuntu on it.So I suppose you can install the amd64 version. Core2duo is so new I havntseen or heard anyone complaining about this on forums or in irc. So inshort , I have no clue!!! Does it run live well ?
