I have tried running Vista once (my company provides MSDN access because we need the licenses for our consulting work although we use UNIX all the time) and I must say it is crap. The problem I find with Microsoft is that they like to use user interfaces to workaround some of the problems deeper down in the software stack. Anyone heard of UAC? The only thing that I can complement them is that Office 2004 on Mac is really nice. I think thats the only software they designed correctly. We are a Singapore company specializing in Enterprise Software. We are in the process of offering a business accounting software for Ubuntu to assist SMEs in their business transactions computerization. Please find the development version for preview at the following link: http://samooha.blogspot.com/2007/08/p2p-accounts-preview-on-ubuntu-linux.html Please note that some features are not yet implemented. However, the accounting cycle is almost complete. We appreciate if the finance and accounting oriented Ubuntu enthusiasts could allocate some time to check the software out and provide us with any critical feedback, if possible. This would help us work on improvements before we mass enable the end users with P2P Accounts. We look forward to be active with Ubuntu community with your support. You can do that with Windows XP install disk (Recovery Console -> then "fdisk /mbr") 2) Delete the Ubuntu partitions ( / and swap ). These will be unusable in Windows unless you format them to something else (FAT32 or NTFS). Details in the link. Hopefully you will want to try Ubuntu again some time soon. When I was doing my search, I came upon a number of people who seem to have trashed their PC's while trying to uninstall Ubuntu ... as a result of which they now have a bad impression of Ubuntu. That can't be a good thing. Just to add a small note , instead of fdisk , there is also a command called "fixmbr" in the recovery console.
