Together with Christian I did an extended "Monday triage",that includes the holiday break.
Found 65 bugs, 3 Forum discussions, 5 doc discussions, 1 doc contribution.

Many bugs contained just tracking updates or expiry notifications, but there were also
some notable/actionable updates:

# Bug Triage

LP: #1490071 | | D | Confirmed | mysql-8.0 | MySQL 5.6 refuses to install on systems that have had Maria… |
The fix was not not auto-syncing from Debian.
Pinged Lena and she triggered the relevant changes manually and lined up the work for mysql-8.4, too.
Thanks!

LP: #2026757 | * | DJKMNOP | Confirmed | dnsmasq | [SRU] dnsmasq on Ubuntu Jammy crashes on neutron-dhcp-agent… |
The Ubuntu delta migrated, but was also accepted as 2.90-7 in Debian in parallel.
Sync'ed the changes from Debian to keep the package aligned.

LP: #2084411 | | D | Expired | mysql-8.0 | package mysql-server-8.0 8.0.39-0ubuntu0.22.04.1 failed to … |
Collected some duplicates of other (expired) "port 3306" bugs, some of which contained explicit instructions for debugging, if anybody still wants to pick up on it.

LP: #2085244 | | D | Expired | libseccomp | Merge libseccomp from Debian unstable for plucky |
Reset the merge bug to "New" as we have 2.5.5-2 in Debian now.

LP: #2091858 | | DFJNOP | In Progress | sosreport | [sru] sos upstream 4.8.2 |
Subscribed ~ubuntu-sponsors for review & SRU uploads.

LP: #2092329 | | D | New | wireguard | wg-quick fails with systemd resolvconf compatibility shim |
Added references about resolvconf removal and upstream integration discussions.
Also asked for clarification of a potential user error.

LP: #2092351 | | D | New | clamav | freshclam daemon update warning does not disappear after up… |
Linked as a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamav/+bug/2067608, which contains plenty of discussion, workarounds and is actively worked on.

LP: #2092490 | | D | New | ruby-defaults | yjit is not present in ruby |
This is a feature request, which we tagged for further discussion with the team.

LP: #2092779 | | D | New | unbound | unbound-helper fails to properly detect nameservers |
A reproducible bug. Subscribed ~ubuntu-server

LP: #2092836 | | D | New | samba | smbget adds a space to the server name, fails to get |
Asked the reporter to re-configure their DNS (/etc/resolv.conf) in systemd-resovled “stub” mode.
As their current manual configuration conflicted with the default Ubuntu setup.

LP: #1659567 | | D | Triaged | squid-deb-proxy | empty ACL warning during cron.daily/logrotate |
Removed the package, following Debian, retained bug tasks for old releases.

LP: #2056372 | | DMN | Triaged | exim4 | Enabling SPF checks with CHECK_RCPT_SPF doesn't work |
Nobody is “wrong” on this case, but promoting libspf2 to main which was denied for being in active in 2021
and having no activity since is not a solution either.
Making it easier to use via documentation still is the compromise to go for.

LP: #2074309 |      V | DNO     | Confirmed     | rabbitmq-server     |      upgrade 22.04 -> 24.04 won't start due to feature flags |
Admitted on the bug that we fail to find the resources for it so far.
Only path identified, provide interim versions to allow admins to upgrade through (PPA+Doc+ blocker in do-release-upgrade)

# Forum Triage

*Ubuntu 24.04 Server DIY … [, 2024-12-28]

Nice new community content, no need to be part of the official docs (hence no need to move to git) but really nice and at the right place

# Docs Triage

In collaboration with multiple community members on the Forum and docs issue tracker,
Christian was able to fix an issue in our OpenLDAP How-to:
https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-server-documentation/pull/108

# Misc

Christian investigated an issue with the daily metrics (LP: #2093081),
where "Installing many packages at once lets the nginx service fail to start".
The problem seems to be in the systemd update done along the upgrade, has a systemd task now.

We also identified to bug reports that are good for starters and volunteers who are interested to help:
- https://pad.lv/2037100 | edk2 | Booting a QEMU aarch64 VM using kernel+initrd results in an… |
- https://pad.lv/1999190 | sssd | missing lines in apparmor config for sssd |

Cheers,
   Lukas
