side note for maintainer: I see invoke-rc.d is being used in the
maintscript, maybe we should carry an Ubuntu delta to use dh_installsystemd
in d/rules

pad.lv/2082608 | 22.04.5 to 24.04.1 sets /etc/samba/smb.conf to default
Jammy->Noble upgrade user loses samba settings (gets overwritten by default
settings). I pinged Andreas on this matter, and also tagged u-r-u. This
might need a fix in u-r-u to prompt for new settings or old, and I'm also
thinking the samba maintscripts could do a config backup during upgrade as
well.
