   As mentioned in the bug, this seems like a dup of LP: #1997375, where
   an SRU is being worked on. Since Sergio is leading the efforts and
   decided not to mark the bug as a duplicate (was this done
   intentionally to keep interacting with the reporter there?), I left it
   untouched.

   While this is an upstream issue, which apparently should be dealt with
   upstream, we have just uploaded the affected version to all supported
   series with mysql 8 (ll, kk, jj, and ff) as a security upload. I
   pinged the security team and added a server-triage-discuss tag for
   this one.
