upgrading 10.04 based mail server

One suggestion for you to investigate would be to deploy a current ubuntu
alongside that existing server and try to sync one thing at a time:
- copy the IMAP mailboxes over to the new cyrus
- dump & reload the mysql db
- copy postfix config over, adjust

Then you can also experiment with this new server with one or two clients
and see how it goes, and get experience with the changes since 10.04.

I think a dist-upgrade or do-release-upgrade will have undefined results.
