High performance computing cluster

we need to run some scientific calculation on the cluster using job
schedulers. Previously we are using Rocks Cluster but the centOS 6.3  is
outdated and no updates or packages can be installed.

So can we build rocks like cluster in Ubuntu. If possible please help me
out in configuring it.
