Hello all,

I did an ubuntu server 14.04 installation for a hosting enviroment. There is also a
mailservver setup with Postfix, dovecot and amavis.
Amavis send warnings to syslog at some incoming mails:

 (!)NOTICE: Skipping bad output from file(1) at [0, p001], got: /etc/magic, 187:
Warning: string extension `B' invalid
 (!)NOTICE: Skipping bad output from file(1) at [0, p001], got: /etc/magic, 402:
Warning: string extension `B' invalid
 (!)NOTICE: Skipping bad output from file(1) at [0, p001], got: /etc/magic, 619:
Warning: string extension `B' invalid
 (!)NOTICE: Skipping bad output from file(1) at [0, p001], got: /etc/magic, 624:
Warning: string extension `B' invalid
NOTICE: Skipping bad output from file(1) at [0, p001], got: /etc/magic, 628: Warning:
string extension `B' invalid
NOTICE: Skipping bad output from file(1) at [0, p001], got: /etc/magic, 629: Warning:
string extension `B' invalid

after searching I found:
http://lists.amavis.org/pipermail/amavis-users/2011-April/000188.html

doing:
file
/etc/magic, 187: Warning: string extension `B' invalid
/etc/magic, 402: Warning: string extension `B' invalid
/etc/magic, 619: Warning: string extension `B' invalid
/etc/magic, 624: Warning: string extension `B' invalid
/etc/magic, 628: Warning: string extension `B' invalid
/etc/magic, 629: Warning: string extension `B' invalid

Did also a reinstall of "file" with no luck.

that only some mails affected. Can not see something special.

Can someone help?
