Hi there,
the man page for current rsyslogd package in Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS is
misleading regarding the "-d" option. Quoting:
- ------
-d Turns on debug mode. Using this the daemon will not
proceed a fork(2) to set itself in the background, but opposite to
that stay in the
foreground and write much debug information on the
current tty. See the DEBUGGING section for more information.
- ------
This is a lie. Using the "-d" option alone will still fork rsyslog to
background.
As I am not willing to use apport or ubuntu-bug to file a bug report,
can somebody else please take a look? Would be nice to have consistent
man pages :)
Kind regards,
