MAAS 1.5 on Trusty and failed power tests

I recently upgraded from 12.04 MAAS 1.3.1 to 14.04 MAAS 1.5 and am having
some problems getting my servers to deploy. From what I can tell, it seems
to be due to a requirement in 1.5 for MAAS to be able to power on and off
servers (not a requirement in 1.3.1).

When I "commission" the servers, I get failed tests that seem to relate to
the fact I haven't setup "power types".

For our environment, it is not desirable to have MAAS control our servers
boot processes. Has anyone been able to bypass this requirement?
