Enable promiscous /dev/mem in ubuntu server

I'm not sure. If you don't get an answer here, try the Ubuntu kernel
team mailing list or IRC channel [1].

The server kernel is now -generic and the same as the desktop kernel.
Just make sure you build the -generic kernel using the binary-generic
target as specified in those instructions.
