This approach continues to be sane with MAAS and Juju (although I know
that the Hadoop charm at least does not support additional block
devices - but that should be fairly easy to implement).

I don't think there is pre-canned way to doing bonded interfaces with
Juju and MAAS; however it is possible to adapt charms to setup bonding
as services are deployed.
