Indeed, I've already done that but I'm wondering if those HP diagnostic tools could be helpful.

The kernel module seems to be loded correctly :
# lsmod | grep -i aic
aic7xxx 166236 0
scsi_transport_spi 35584 1 aic7xxx
scsi_mod 183544 7 usb_storage,sr_mod,sd_mod,sg,aic7xxx,scsi_transport_spi,libata
The documentation can be found here : http://www.netadmintools.com/text/README.aic7xxx.txt
From what I've seen in the doc, I found something in /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/
# cat /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/4

But I'm still wondering why a "/dev/st0" appear somewhere to let me use my HP tape drive...
There is a counter at the back on the tape drive who can be increased from 0 to 15, should I set something
else then 0 ? I have only one SCSI device.
I'm using a Adaptec SCSI cable, does it must be plug in a specific way?
Thanks !
