I did the below suggestion.

root at hostii3:~# apt-get install linux-image-`uname -r`-bigmem
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package linux-image-2.6.24-16-generic-bigmem
root at hostii3:~:~# uname -r
2.6.24-16-generic
root at hostii3:~:~# getconf LONG_BIT
64
root at hostii3:~:~# apt-get install linux-image-bigmem
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package linux-image-bigmem
root at hostii3:~:~# apt-cache search bigmem
root at hostii3:~:~#
