I just tried installing to a VM with the following results:

dapper - netboot won't start, error is "ERROR: Last Trap: Illegal
Instruction"
feisty, gutsy - I still have the netboot images but with no archive, they
can't be installed
hardy, intrepid - The netboot image starts, but in the phase "Detecting
Disks" fails with this error:
[ 81.600402] SUN4V-DTLB: Error at TPC[f7dbfaac], tl
1
[ 81.600402] SUN4V-DTLB: Error at TPC[f7dbfaac], tl 1

2]

intrepid - netboot won't start, error is "ERROR: /packages/obp-tftp: Last
Trap: Fast Data Access MMU Miss"

(and, for completeness, debian lenny installs fine but after booting the
console is unresponsive)

I'm not sure what the cause of any of these are, or how to test. As I said
earlier, these are all being installed in Logical Domain VMs on a SunFire
T1000. The disk images are ZFS volumes.

If anyone has any ideas how I can debug further, I'd be grateful.
