2850 shouldn't be a problem, I have had Ubuntu running on 2850s in the
past, Perc raid is well supported and the Broadcom or Intel Nics also,
their IPMI is also plays nicely with Linux. Don't know about the HP
but good simple kit in imho better than the Dell usually.
