My Firefox sends out a HTTP request and alters the viewed content as a result
of this, but for sure i won´t call Firefox a "service".

A service stays where it is a waits for *incomming* requests (dhcp*d*), a
client walks out and *does* a request (dhclient).

That´s my definition
