found the problem I think...... there is a conflict now!!!!!!!! GG GG GG

[Terminal #1]
# tail -f /var/log/syslog

[Terminal #2]
# /etc/init.d/network-manager stop

(syslog is quiet)

# /etc/init.d/network-manager start

(syslog is flooded to bat shit crazy)

# /etc/init.d/dnsmasq stop
# /etc/init.d/network-manager stop

(syslog is once again quiet)

# /etc/init.d/network-manager start

(syslog is NOW quiet????)
(problem found but not solved!!!!!!)

# dpkg -l dnsmasq

ii  dnsmasq                     2.75-1             all
Small caching DNS proxy and DHCP/TFTP server
