Public bug reported:

I just tried to install mysql-server-5.6, it asked for root-password
twice and then said it could not set the root password, then dpkg failed
to start mysql (invoke-rc.d: initscript mysql, action "start" failed.).
Now apt wants to finish the broken mysql-installation everytime i try to
use it. When i try to start the mysql server manually (sudo service
mysql start), it gives me "start: Job failed to start" and nothing else.
