Thanks, in vista i was able to reproduce.  Just turning the default in
vga/Kconfig to n fixes it.  I also tried debian's 1.8.2 package but it
fails.

I'm going to run full qemu and libvirt testsuites (from lp;qa-
regression-testing) with that package to hopefully find any regressions,
then merge debian's 1.8.2 and add this patch on top.
