[Bug 1385885] [NEW] etckeeper (with git) fails to commit any data on fresh utopic install

$ sudo etckeeper init
Initialised empty Git repository in /etc/.git/

$ sudo etckeeper commit "initial commit"

$ sudo etckeeper vcs log
fatal: bad default revision 'HEAD'

Installing packages doesn't seem to trigger commits either.
