Thanks Alex. I'm sorry I've been slow. I'm still not back at work as
normal but I'll try to look at this now.

Just to log what I've seen so far:

Looks like Vivid will need to either cherry-pick this, or a merge may be
sufficient since your message says you picked r1629372, r1629485,
r1629519 and Debian 2.4.10-6 reports to have picked everything up to
r1632831 but I need to check this.

So I think what I'll probably do first is merge Vivid to meet SRU
requirements for Trusty, and then take your patch, adapt it to quilt and
apply it to Trusty.

To prevent a future regression, would be you able to check Vivid once I
have merged and uploaded it please, to ensure the bug is fixed there?
