Thanks for reporting this bug.  I can't reproduce this, or figure out
why this would have happened.  Somehow dpkg must have found that kvm and
qemu-kvm came from source packages with different checksums, which
should not be possible.

Can you show us the result of

sha1sum /var/cache/apt/archives/qemu*
sha1sum /var/cache/apt/archives/kvm*
cat /etc/apt/sources.list 
for f in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*; do
	echo ========================
	echo $f
	cat $f
	echo ========================
done

And append the file /var/log/apt/term.log?

 status: incomplete
 importance: high


** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided => High

** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete
