You have two options here.
1) Request a backport, following the process described at:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports. If you want to do this, you can
proceed by changing the bug task for this bug to saucy-backports. Ask on
#ubuntu-bugs on Freenode if you need help with this.
2) Request a stable release update to fix the specific bug with a
minimal patch. In this case, please change this bug's title to match the
actual bug being fixed, and follow the process described here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates
Note that both of these options do need some developer input. Volunteers
welcome.
Marking this bug Incomplete, as it isn't clear to me how you want to
proceed. Please transform this bug into the sort of bug you want to
track this issue as I described above, and then change the bug status
back to New.
