Public bug reported:
Steps to reproduce:
1. Using a pristine precise image, install maas: $ sudo apt-get install maas
2. Add cloud tools archive: $ sudo add-apt-repository cloud-archive:tools
3. $ sudo apt-get update
4. Dist upgrade with -y so any prompts should be assumed as yes: $ sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade
What should happen:
MAAS should be updated from 1.2+bzr1373+dfsg-0ubuntu1~12.04.5 to
1.4+bzr1693+dfsg-0ubuntu2.3~ctools0
What happens:
You get an apt prompt due to changes to /etc/maas/maas_local_settings.py
Setting up maas-region-controller (1.4+bzr1693+dfsg-0ubuntu2.3~ctools0) ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/maas/maas-http.conf ...
Configuration file `/etc/maas/maas_local_settings.py'
==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation.
==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version.
What would you like to do about it ? Your options are:
Y or I : install the package maintainer's version
N or O : keep your currently-installed version
D : show the differences between the versions
Z : start a shell to examine the situation
The default action is to keep your current version.
*** maas_local_settings.py (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ?
Workaround is to run: apt-get -y --option=Dpkg::Options::=--force-
confold dist-upgrade
** Affects: maas
