Unless dracut provides exactly the same interfaces for hook scripts and
update-initramfs (I assume neither is true), this is more than just
"updating dependencies".  Sure, updating deps will allow you to install
dracut, but it won't actually build initrds correctly without some
package mangling, I assume.

It makes a lot more sense to wait for most of this to filter down from
Debian, especially as swapping dracut in place of initramfs-tools is
certainly not something Ubuntu has any immediate plans to support.
