[Bug 1214252] [NEW] 1.6.0 qemu-system-ppc64 doesn't allow console setting

when start using:

qemu-system-ppc64  -cdrom Fedora-16-ppc64-netinst.iso -hda ppc64.img
-boot d -m 640 -kernel vmlinuz.f16 -append console=ttyS0 -nographic

the console setting is not taken by the software, as we still see:

No console specified using screen & keyboard

I'm running qemu on Ubuntu server 12.04 LTS.
