Ok, so dpkg-buildflags is too much of a pain to get right, so I'll just
go the lazy way and use hardening-wrapper.

Here's the result going this way:

 Fortify Source functions: yes
 Read-only relocations: yes
 Immediate binding: yes

 Position Independent Executable: no, regular shared library (ignored)
 Stack protected: yes
 Fortify Source functions: yes (some protected functions found)
 Read-only relocations: yes
 Immediate binding: yes
