I have following in

/etc/network/interfaces

auto vlan3
        iface vlan3 inet static
        vlan-raw-device eth0
        address 192.168.42.196
        netmask 255.255.255.192
        network 192.168.42.192
        masklen 26
        broadcast 192.168.42.255


it looks good and almost the same on another machine:

auto vlan3
        iface vlan3 inet static
        vlan-raw-device eth0
        address 192.168.42.195
        netmask 255.255.255.192
        network 192.168.42.192
        masklen 26
        broadcast 192.168.42.255


but get:

init: network-interface (vlan3) pre-start process (1683) terminated with
status 1

on boot.

Another machine interface works OK.

Looks like bug...
