Hi Matthew, thanks so much for taking the time to file a bug report.
This is a common problem, but not actually a bug I'm afraid.
Unpacking mysql-server-5.1 (from .../mysql-server-5.1_5.1.63-0ubuntu0.11.04.1_i386.deb) ...
Selecting previously deselected package bacula-sd-mysql.
Because mysql-server can only be a "recommends" of bacula (since it
might live on another server and not actually be depended on), apt and
dpkg are free to configure the mysql server *after* bacula. But this
breaks the bacula installation scripts.
I would recommend that you remove bacula, and then install mysql-server,
let it fully set-up, then install bacula.
