[Bug 872029] [NEW] Date Display

I am using the oneric ocelot. Also I am using the gnome. I would like to display the date in Desktop. But it is not showing the date.
It is showing the time and the monday or tuesday. But no date. Also, if I click open calendar, it is saying execution failed.
